Inauguration of Basic Chinese Language Class at Tribhuvan University
 

On Monday, December 16, 2024 (2081/09/01), the Central Department of Library and Information Science, TU, in collaboration with the Confucius Institute at TU (CITU), inaugurated a Basic Chinese Language Class for students and faculties. This significant initiative marks a step towards enhancing linguistic and cultural exchange.

The training session commenced with Wang Lisha, a language instructor from China, introducing foundational vowel alphabets of the Chinese language. A total of 14 participants from various departments and offices within Tribhuvan University have enrolled in this six-month training program. The course aims to foster language proficiency, deepen cultural understanding, promote practical applications of the Chinese language, and advance its global recognition.

During the opening ceremony, the Acting Director of the Confucius Institute at TU, Bal Ram Duwal, Ph.D., and the Head of the Central Department of Library and Information Science, Lila Nyaichyai, Ph.D., highlighted the program's objectives. They provided valuable insights into the importance of such training in building academic and cultural bridges between Nepal and China.
