A brief introduction to the Confucius Institute at Tribhuvan University

Since April 2017, East China University of Technology (ECUT) has been leading the effort to establish a Confucius Institute, with strong backing from the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Education, Hanban (Confucius Institute Headquarters), the Embassy of Nepal in China, other Chinese Embassies abroad, and the Ministry of Education of Nepal. On October 13, 2019, during President Xi Jinping's visit to Nepal, he and then-President Bidhya Devi Bhandari of Nepal jointly witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Confucius Institute Headquarters and Tribhuvan University, marking a new chapter in China-Nepal relations. In March 2020, the Confucius Institute at Tribhuvan University, co-established by ECUT and Qinghai Minzu University, received official approval, laying a key foundation for cultural exchange between China and Nepal. On August 16, 2022, the Confucius Institute was officially unveiled in Kathmandu, signaling a new era of educational and cultural collaboration between the two countries.

Confucius Institute at Tribhuvan University: A Flagship Platform for China-Nepal Cultural and Educational Cooperation

Tribhuvan University, recognized as the first and largest university in Nepal, holds a unique social status in the country, with the Prime Minister serving as its honorary chancellor. The Confucius Institute at Tribhuvan University (hereafter referred to as "CI@TU") has emerged as one of the most influential Confucius Institutes in Nepal. Since its establishment, CI@TU has become a vital bridge for cultural and linguistic exchange between China and Nepal, excelling in promoting language and culture. Through a series of impactful activities, CI@TU has not only enhanced its international reputation but also injected new vitality into Nepal-China cooperation.

特里布文大学孔子学院简介：

自2017年4月，东华理工大学率先启动了承办孔子学院的申请工作，得到江西省教育厅、国家汉办、尼泊尔驻华使馆、驻外使馆及尼泊尔教育部等多方的大力支持。2019年10月13日，国家主席习近平访尼，与时任尼泊尔总统比迪娅·德维·班达里共同见证了孔子学院总部与特里布文大学签署合作协议，开启了中尼关系发展的新篇章。2020年3月，东华理工大学和青海民族大学联合承办的特里布文大学孔子学院正式获批，奠定了中尼文化交流的重要基石。2022年8月16日，孔子学院在加德满都正式揭牌，标志着中尼教育与文化合作进入了崭新阶段。

特里布文大学是尼泊尔第一所也是最大的大学，在尼泊尔拥有独特的社会地位，尼泊尔总理为其名誉校长。特里布文大学孔子学院（以下简称“特大孔院”）作为依托特里布文大学的一所孔子学院，也就成为了尼泊尔最具影响力的孔子学院之一。特大孔院自成立以来，以其卓越的语言和文化推广工作，成为中尼两国人民交流的桥梁。通过举办一系列具有深远影响的活动，特大孔院不仅提升了自身的国际声誉，也为中尼合作注入了新的活力。
