PN Campus Chinese Language Class Celebrates Chinese New Year

On December 31, 2024, the Chinese class at Prithvi Narayan Campus celebrated the upcoming Chinese Lunar New Year (Spring Festival) with a lively gala in the classroom. The event aimed to deepen students' understanding of traditional Chinese culture and make learning more engaging through hands-on experiences.

The event began with an introduction to the traditions and cultural practices associated with the Chinese New Year. The Chinese teacher presented a video to introduce the customs and traditions of Chinese New Year, such as pasting Spring Festival couplets, cutting window paper-cuts, setting off firecrackers, and enjoying the reunion dinner. The teacher also provided an in-depth look at traditional foods often enjoyed during the festival, including dumplings, rice cakes, and spring rolls, giving students a more vivid sense of the festive atmosphere.

Next, students participated in hands-on activities to experience traditional Chinese arts. Under the teacher's guidance, they crafted beautiful window patterns from red paper and used brushes to write the Chinese character "福" (fu), meaning "fortune" or "blessing." These activities allowed students to experience the artistic charm of Chinese culture firsthand.

  The celebration reached its peak with a series of fun games, including peanut-picking with chopsticks, blindfolded candle-blowing, and needle-threading, filling the classroom with laughter and excitement.

  The event concluded successfully, with students expressing that they not only learned about the Chinese New Year but also experienced the charm of Chinese culture through interaction. This event was not only a cultural exchange but also a memorable learning experience. It is hoped that more such activities will be held in the future, allowing students to further explore the unique charm of Chinese culture.

为庆祝中国农历新年的到来，2024年12月31日Prithvi Narayan Campus汉语班的学生与老师在教室里举办了一场别开生面的迎新春联欢晚会。本次活动旨在增进学生对中国传统文化的了解，同时通过实践体验增强学习的趣味性。

首先，了解中国新年的传统及文化。汉语老师通过视频向学生们介绍了中国新年的风俗习惯与文化，包括贴春联、剪窗花、放鞭炮、吃年夜饭等。随后，还详细介绍了一些春节期间常见的传统食物，如饺子、年糕和春卷等，帮助学生们更直观地感受节日的气氛。

动手体验传统艺术。在老师的指导下，同学们亲自动手参与了剪窗花和写毛笔字的活动。大家兴致勃勃地用红纸剪出各种精美的窗花图案，并用毛笔书写“福”字。这些活动让学生们体验到了中国传统文化的艺术魅力。

随后，现场氛围被一系列趣味十足的游戏推向高潮：学生们用筷子夹花生，看看谁能夹得最多，蒙眼吹蜡烛，穿针引线等，将联欢会气氛推向高潮。

活动在欢声笑语中圆满结束。同学们纷纷表示，通过这次联欢晚会，他们不仅学习了许多关于中国春节的知识，还在互动中体会到了中国文化的魅力。这场晚会不仅是一场文化的交流，更是一段难忘的学习经历。期待Prithvi Narayan Campus汉语课在未来举办更多类似的活动，让学生感受中国文化的独特魅力。
