The First HSK Examination of 2026 Successfully held In Pokhara & Kathmandu
On January 24, the Confucius Institute at Tribhuvan University successfully organized the HSK examination at its affiliated test centers: New Summit College in Kathmandu and Janapriya Multiple Campus in Pokhara. The examination was conducted in a paper-based format, covering HSK Level 1 to Level 2, with a total of 111 candidates participating.
To ensure the smooth conduct of the examination, the Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute, Dr. Zhang Xingnian, clearly assigned specific responsibilities to all teachers involved in examination affairs. Several months prior to the exam, teachers at each teaching point actively promoted the importance of the HSK test, encouraged students to register enthusiastically, and provided continuous exam-oriented guidance. As the exam date approached, the Confucius Institute established a dedicated examination task group to provide both online and offline briefings for candidates regarding exam precautions, as well as standardized procedures for invigilators. The invigilation team worked efficiently in coordination to complete all preparatory tasks, including examination hall arrangement, equipment testing, and material preparation.
During the examination, all procedures were strictly carried out in accordance with examination management regulations, including thorough entry security checks, identity verification, and candidate registration. The entire process was rigorous, standardized, and orderly. Candidates at all levels strictly observed examination discipline and focused attentively on their papers. All invigilators performed their duties diligently, ensuring a well-organized and orderly examination environment.
The HSK examination is a standardized Chinese language proficiency test introduced by Chinese Test International (CTI), aimed at “promoting teaching through testing, promoting learning through testing, and integrating teaching with testing.” The Confucius Institute at Tribhuvan University will continue to optimize the organization, management, and service quality of the HSK examination. Through systematic and standardized Chinese language training and assessment, it seeks to help more Nepali students realize their dreams of studying in China, and to build a solid linguistic bridge for enhancing mutual understanding and cultural exchange between the two countries.
