Confucius Institute at Tribhuvan University Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Civil Service Hospital
On February 9, the Confucius Institute at Tribhuvan University (CI@TU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Nepal Civil Service Hospital. The signing ceremony was attended by the Nepali Director of the CI@TU Dr. Bal Ram Duwal and the Executive Director of the Civil Service Hospital, Professor Dr. Mohan Chandra Regmi.

According to the agreement, the CI@TU will establish a teaching center at the hospital and offer Chinese language courses to hospital staff. At the signing ceremony Dr. Duwal stated that the signing of the memorandum not only launches an innovative “Chinese Plus” talent-development model but also builds a bridge of cooperation and friendship. Professor Dr. Mohan Chandra Regmi emphasized that learning and mastering Chinese will significantly enhance the hospital’s medical service capacity and further strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in the field of healthcare.

On the same day, medical personnel of the Civil Service Hospital who are about to begin Chinese language studies, together with teachers from the Confucius Institute, witnessed this milestone moment. This collaboration marks an important step forward for the CI@TU in providing deeper service to Nepali society.

The Civil Service Hospital itself is a proud symbol of this friendship. Established in 2008 with the generous support of the People’s Republic of China, the hospital is a leading government institution, providing affordable and high-quality specialised care to both civil servants and the general public.
